Goodbye Old Browsers

This month I noticed something being reported and I thought I should mention it to you all. Google will be dropping support for older browsers on August 1st. You may be asking yourself, “Am I running an older browser?” If you are running Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox 3.5, or Safari 3, then, according to them you are. If you continue using these browsers you will most likely have issues in Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, and Google Docs. Officially Google will support the current and previous major release of a browser.

Using these older browsers can be a major security concern for your computer. Many patches that are released most likely do not support these older browsers. Many of the more advanced features of Gmail and Google Docs require a browser that supports HTML5. It seems that Google does not like holding back on what they can provide to cater to older browsers.
